December General Meeting: New York Health Act

You’ve been hearing a lot about the New York Health Act (NYHA). But you may be wondering, what is it, exactly?

The NYHA is legislation in New York State that would provide comprehensive, universal health coverage for every New York resident and worker, replacing existing private insurance company coverage.

But how will it work? What is covered? How will we pay for it? Why do we need it urgently today?

The NYHA came close to passing the NYS legislature last year. We are gearing up for 2022 to get the NYHA over the finish line and to bring quality health care to all New Yorkers.
